Bachelor of Business Management program of Tribhuvan University(TU):
Introduction of BBM:
Bachelor of Business Management is a four years academic program of Tribhuvan University with eight semesters of 120 credit hours. This Course is relatively new to other courses such as BBA, BBS programs. This course covers the entirety of business organizations such as Management knowledge, administrative knowledge. It covers both conceptual and practical knowledge of Business Management one program. This course is solely designed and upgraded by the Faculty of Management of Tribhuvan University.
CMAT examination is compulsory for students who want to pursue BBM. Quite 50+ Business Schools of Nepal offer Bachelor of Business Management (BBM) program with affiliation from Tribhuvan University(TU).
The BBM graduates are equipped with the required knowledge, skills, and self-confidence to help in effective and successful management, within a constantly changing and highly competitive national and global business environment. This course has been designed with the target of manufacturing middle-level managerial manpower within the sectoral areas.
Program Objective of BBM by TU:
The main objectives of Bachelor of Business Management programs are:
Prepare the students as successful Managers, entrepreneurs who can think creatively and logically
in practical conditions
It develops capabilities of innovation and entrepreneurship required for sustainability in the
long-run even for startup companies in Nepal.
Focuses on the overall personality development of the students.
SALIENT FEATURES
Teaching Pedagogy
Interactive lectures, students’ presentations, case studies, and projects are the general teaching methodology. The teaching faculty will follow the appropriate teaching-learning methods suitable for each course.
Attendance
Students should be highly committed to the program. Regular attendance should be performed by students and presentations should be given by students required by the Course. Students Should attend 80 % of classes or they will be not allowed to appear in the semester-end examinations.
Examination and Evaluation
The evaluation of students will be based on their ongoing in-semester(internal) and semester-end examinations(final). The FOM will conduct and calculate grades in semester-end examinations based on their performance. The course facilitator (instructor) will provide grades in the in-semester evaluations based on the performance in exam.
Normal and Maximum Duration of Study
The normal duration and the maximum duration for the completion of the BBM program are as follows:
- Normal duration 48 months (8 semesters)
- Maximum duration 96 months (16 semesters)
Failing in Course
I)Students have to reregister and retake the course as per the semester cycle who do not qualify to appear in the semester-end examinations.
ii)Students can appear in make-up examinations as per the semester cycle who are qualified but fail to appear in the semester-end examinations or fail in the semester-end examination.
iii)FOM will only organize make-up examinations in the last semester if a student had appeared in 6 courses of the earlier three semesters.
Graduation Requirements
Graduation requirements: BBM Students individually should have completed 120 credit hours of studies with at least CGPA 2.0 and above in four years period at TU Affiliated BBM Colleges. They must have C in project writing and internship program. They must also have completed the BBM course within the maximum time specified in the normal and maximum duration of the studying period.
ELIGIBILITY
Eligibility:
To become eligible students must have successfully completed Plus 2 with at least D+ or 1.8 GPA and should also pass the CMAT entrance exam conducted by Tribhuvan University Faculty of Management.
Admission procedure
Students who are applying for the program must fill and submit the application form available in any college offering BBM with all details of their personal information and past academic records. Three-stage are Involved in the Selection Process which are:-
I)Written Test
ii)Individual Presentation
iii)Personal Interviews
Central management Admission Test(CMAT) will be conducted by FOM which will test the verbal and quantitative ability of Students. The colleges Offering BBM will Conduct individual Presentations and interviews for Selecting candidates and The final Selection Is done By the admission Committee Of the College.
Merit List
The Admission process of the students to BBM program of Tribhuvan University will be strictly on the basis of merit list. The merit list is listed below:
- 60% of CMAT Entrance examination
- 30% of marks secured in percentage in plus two or equivalent
- 10% Interview.

BBM मा प्रत्येक क्याम्पस/ कलेजले तोकिएको संख्यामा प्रति सेक्सन विद्यार्थी भर्ना गर्दै आएकोमा प्रवेश परीक्षा (CMAT) मा सम्मिलित भई भर्नाका लागि योग्य ठहरिएका विद्यार्थीहरुबाट अनिवार्य रुपमा आवेदन आव्हान गरि प्रति सेक्सन २ (दुई) जना विद्यार्थीहरुलाई क्याम्पस/कलेजले उठाउने कूल रकम (Total Amount) बाट पचास प्रतिशत छात्रवृत्ति उपलब्ध गराउनु पर्ने छ । छात्रवृत्ति कोटामा विद्यार्थी भर्ना देहायको प्राथमिकता क्रमको आधारमा योग्यताक्रम अनुसार छनौट गर्नु पर्नेछ ः–
क) नेपालका सामुदायिक मा.वि. बाट प्रवेशिका र सामुदायिक उच्च मा.वि. बाट दश जोड दुई परीक्षा उत्तिर्ण गरेको ।
ख) नेपालको सामुदायिक उच्च मा.वि. बाट दश जोड दुई परीक्षा उत्तिर्ण गरेको ।
ग) नेपालका सामुदायिक मा.वि. बाट प्रवेशिका परीक्षा उत्तिर्ण गरेको ।
